Basic Genealogy Strategies

Do you have a desire to find your ancestors but don't know where to begin? Come learn about the records available to you in the United States, in particular, Michigan and the surrounding states, which can assist you in this endeavor. Find out where the records are located and ways you can access them. In addition, learn the basic research steps--including gathering, recording, analyzing information prior to research.

Many of our ancestors traveled from the old country to Canada before arriving in the United States. learn how to search church registers, civil registers, census records, tombstone and land records as well as immigration and border crossings. The class will focus mainly on Ontario, but other Providences will be discussed.
